Soft Cloud in hands for every oneself - SelfCloud 2.0

New cloud system and applications are arrived for Android and PC.

- Fantastic Idea: Self Clouding
People are known that all the cloud systems have their cloud server, data center, and the clients are synchronized and downloading any contents they want.
But what do you think if there is no data center and the contents are delivered from the client devices to the other client directly?

There are many cloud services such as Dropbox, Box.net, iCloud, SkyDrive and etc. These systems are all the On-Server-Centralized ones, all the contents of their users must be uploaded onto the data centers and the clients will download any contents the users want to see on the client devices.
Some people don’t want to upload their private or personal contents on the other servers, but also want to see on any devices in their hands.

Self Clouding is to enjoy the real personal cloud without any 3rd party server and every user's device will be the data center and also client.

You don't need to upload your private or personal contents on the outer server. When you create a file on your device, it will be shared and delivered from your device to the other users(your friends intended to share).
SelfCloud server will only redirect the target devices onto the source devices, so no one can look at your personal contents in principle.

This is the new idea of SelfCloud, that is just the soft clouding.
There is no need to have any particular hardware for the data center.

SelfCloud will perfect for family members, lovers, journalists and business usages with securities.

- Easy sharing the private contents to your friends or family
How do you share your contents with the Dropbox to your friends? First, you have to deliver the sharing URL for the contents and next, you will contact your friends to have a look at that URL.

With SelfCloud, when you set a folder of contents to share tapping the Share icon and select your friends from the Friend list, the push notification for sharing will go to the target devices of your friends. So the target devices will get the several notification alarms in time you shared.

You don't need to get the sharing URL and contact your friend manually.
All the sharing sequences will go automatically instead of you.

- You are the owner of all your contents you create or you received from your friends
Once you have created contents or received contents shared from your friends, those contents will be your own. Even when your friends delete the contents shared to you, those deleted contents will remain in your lists and those are all in your control, not in the sharer's control.

- Full synchronizing with not only the contents but also the favorite setting and friends list
The normal cloud systems are all the synchronizing only the contents.
But the favorite settings and friends to share with you are also your effort and important information for you.
SelfCloud system is taking serious view on all of your information with security.

In one word, SelfCloud is Soft, Self and Security cloud system.
You try and enjoy. It's your turn.

What's and How: The SelfCloud Detail Overview

 What's SelfCloud
Have you ever used Dropbox or Box.net?
When you use those services, it means that your contents will be uploaded to the service.
Differing from those services, SelfCloud is the personal cloud that lets you create and operate your own cloud server by yourself in your hands.
Your personal contents are never uploaded to the 3rd party server which is operated by the providers like Dropbox or box.net, they are stored your personal spaces only.
So, you can have your contents in your hands anytime, you can synchronize it between your devices, or share with your friends.

 How does SelfCloud work?
You can use useful functions of SelfCloud.

My Box: This is the cloud of your own.
In order to use this function, one of your phone or PC should work in server mode.
If you have your phone as server, it consumes wireless traffic and battery power; we recommend you will have your own PC as your SelfCloud server.
The contents in my box are synchronized between your devices. So, you will see the same files from your phone, iPad, and PC anytime, anywhere.

Share Box : This is the cloud shared with your friends.
You can create your ShareBox, or your friend can do it.
If you are going to create shared cloud to your friend, you should run your server just like as MyBox. Your friends in your list can put the contents or delete them from/to ShareBox. The data in this box are synchronized with your friends automatically.
This will help you when you are going to share your information to a certain friends frequently.

One2One : This is a way of sharing contents where you can indicate the send target user one by one.
Even you don’t have cloud server, you can send and receive your contents directly to your friends.
The list shows the contents by “From Me” and “To Me”, so that, you will feel free just like as you use the Instant Messenger or E-Mail.

My Friend: This is the functions with which you can register and maintain your friends.
You should add user here in order to give share or add him/her to the ShareBox.
Once you give share to your friends, you will be registered his/hers friend list automatically.
You can maintain your friends list by group.

We are looking forward your opinion.

Current cloud topology vs Self cloud topology

Central Server Mode

The current cloud system is a central server mode.
Every user has his/her own storage on the cloud server and upload to synchronize and share.
This is the main system topology of Dropbox, Box.net and iCloud.

It's the same with the former post office structures.

Distributed Server Mode

SelfCloud series have established a new topology with a distributed server mode.
Every user has his/her own cloud server at home and pushes the notifications to synchronize and share contents to the other devices(his/her own or others).
Then the devices notified connect to the master server(sharer) directly and pull out the contents only for them.

The main purpose of this topology is not to upload contents on the 3th party server.

My PC becomes a Dropbox, I can build a cloud and share it by my self on PC

WHY I made my PC as a Cloud Server?

Have you used Dropbox, iCloud or Box.net?
Useful and easy to use and enjoy the cloud. However, have you ever worried that your private resource, for example your family picture will be stored on the 3rd party server you don’t own? Some of you might have given up sharing the files because of such concerns.
So I thought if my PC can be as my cloud server like Dropbox server device.

HOW I made my PC as a Dropbox?

With SelfCloud for PC software, my PC becomes as a web server on the internet.
My mobile devices, iPhone and Android become as a cloud clients with the mobile apps named SelfCloud for iPhone and Android. They were published on the Apple appstore and Android market.

My PC always works online at home and I can upload my phone contents onto my PC at anytime and anywhere, not on the third party devices.

This is MY OWN CLOUD!

I can also SHARE my clouds with friends!

My cloud makes all my private contents synchronized over all my devices at anywhare.
And also I can build a cloud to share with the closed friends or family. With this handiness, I can do the secret report to my boss at the remote space.
This is my OWN Dropbox, isn't it?

Main features

1. Build my own cloud server by myself

With Dropbox or Box.net, I have to upload my personal contents onto the central storage server. It means my contents are not personal anymore.

So I use SelfCloud, only installing makes my PC as my cloud server.
It becomes as like as Dropbox service.
Even iPhone or Android phones also can be a SelfCloud server, but maybe consume much battery and traffic.

Anyone can have got his or her own cloud service at home or on hands so simply and quickly.

2. Synchronize my contents on all of my devices anywhere and anytime

Once setting a server mode on a device with SelfCloud, I can see the same lists of contents and folders on any device I have.
That's is the MyBox: it's my cloud space only for me.

My friends also have their own cloud space, so I live in the individual and independent clouds.

The contents synchronizing on my devices are only in my handles.
Because they are staying on my devices only.

3. Share my clouds and contents with my friends only

  • Cloud share

I share contents in the cloud box with friends.
This is ShareBox, imputing any contents in it is just the share operation.

I make some sharing cloud for the frequent delivering to such as my boss, my family or my team. The friends sharing my shared cloud can also imput or remove any contents and folders as like as his cloud.

  • One-One share

I share some contents not with share box, but by selecting the special friends each time. Because I want some friends to see a set of contents and other friends to see the another set of contents.
This is One2One sharing.

So I can assign every shared contents access permission

  • Facebook connection

SelfCloud imports the friend lists from the facebook account, so any contents can share through the facebook.
Clicking the link in the event in facebook downloads the contents from the sharer's device directly.

In the same space(LAN or Cell) contents are delivered directly like bluetooth.
